Halloween Pumpkins

Chris found pumpkins here in Australia!  Halloween isn't a major holiday here so it's mostly the Americans, Canadians and Brits celebrating.  I don't know why it hasn't caught on here.  Who doesn't like to dress up and get candy?

We thought we would paint them this year instead of carve it since we didn't bring our tools and they don't sell the kits here.  Beau was going to have goggley eyes and Emilia was going to have a witch dressed up like Frankenstein.  So they painted their first coats on Monday.

Beau thought this was hilarious when he leaned over the pumpkin and paint got on him.

On Tuesday we realised that the paint wasn't sticking to the pumpkins well and the paint would come off with their fingers whenever they touched it.  So Chris washed off the pumpkins on Wednesday and the kids scooped them out after school.  Then once I was home and after dinner, we went the traditional carving route.
