This is the last post on our 3 day weekend in Albany. Before we left on Monday, we visited a couple of the natural features located along the coast - The Gap and The Rock Bridge.

Albany - Whale World
Monday morning, we visited Whale World. Albany used to be a very busy whaling station but it closed in 1978. The station has been preserved and turned into Whale World. The original oil drums have been turned into theaters showing a 3D whale movie as well as some other movies and museum.

There are tours at the top at every hour.

The wenches used to pull the whales up the dock.
One of the holes they would push the whale blubber through to be cooked.

Albany - Wind Farm
The Albany Wind Farm provides 80% of the power for Albany. We saw the windmills from the sailboat and walked around them on Sunday afternoon. Along the trail we also had some great views of the ocean and Albany. Afterward we went to Middleton Beach.

Beau being Handy Manny and making sure the screws in the bench were tight. The bikers up there thought he was pretty funny.
Overcast and cool never kept Emilia and Beau away from the water and building sandcastles!
