26+ weeks

Ah, the last trimester. I love reading the descriptions of the baby and your body every week. For example, this week my uterus is the size of a basketball and the baby is over 2 pounds and about 15 inches, the size of a cucumber. At least it looks obvious that there's a baby in my belly :-)

Not too bad from the front. Just a little round. I'm not spreading as wide as I did with Emilia since he's not laying transverse.

Beau's head is under the right side of my ribs and his body is sitting pretty high with his feet kicking down low. His heartrate was 161 bpm last Thursday at my checkup. Next doctor's visit is in 4 weeks. They usually start appointments every 2 weeks starting at 28 weeks but my doctor was ok starting those at 30 weeks.

Light Spinach Fettuccini Alfredo with Chicken and Broccoli

This is Emilia's favorite meal. She even asked for it for her birthday when she could have whatever she wanted. It came out of an old Shape magazine in 2003 and Chris has been making it ever since.

Ingredients
    12 ounce spinach fettuccini
    2 cups broccoli florets
    2 teaspoons olive oil
2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch pieces
    3 garlic cloves
    2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
    1 1/2 cups nonfat milk
    4 tablespoons grated Parmasan cheese
Directions

Cook pasta according to package directions while steaming the broccoli.
In large skillet, heat olive oil over med-high heat, add chicken and garlic. Cook about 3-5 min or until chicken is golden on all sides. Add flour, salt and pepper and mix till chicken is well coated on all sides. Add milk and Parmesan cheese and bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 3 min till sauce thickens. Add sauce to pasta and broccoli and mix well. Makes 4 2 cup servings.

Blue bubble gum

Bailey's birthday was Saturday as was her party. Well Emilia picked up a piece of blue bubble gum from the piƱata and this is what she looked like after chewing it a few minutes. She kept wanting me to take pictures so she could see why we were laughing...

Her mouth looked a little better after dinner at Jason's Deli.

Junior Swim Team

Emilia loves going to Junior Swim Team practice. Her stroke has already improved so much and last week she learned how to breathe to the side. Most of the time they swim midway down and back but a couple of times they swim a full lap. Although her favorite part is probably the end when she gets to jump off the diving board.

Dance Fun Performance

Emilia had her end of the year Dance Fun performance at school last Monday. It was so cute!! They showed us a warm up, 5 ballet positions to a song, a ribbon dance, the hand jive in Grease, Dora's "We Did It" dance and pat on the back, and then a little solo at the end by sacheting across the stage and then doing a pirouette.
