Sydney - Day 1 Hard Rock Cafe and Playground

The six of us took the early 5am flight to Sydney so we still had the day to explore the city after we arrived.  We took the subway to our furnished 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment in the heart of the city.  We were right next to the monorail but that had closed down the week before.  But we were able to walk, take a bus, subway, or train anywhere we wanted to go so we never needed to take a taxi or rent a car.

After checking in and dropping off the luggage, we took a walk over to the Hard Rock Cafe near Darling Harbour.  It was damp and a bit chilly and we had to wait for a table but we had to go there.  Chris's dad has always bought his kids (and now our kids too) t-shirts from the Hard Rock all over the world so it was a given that we would eat there at some point on our trip.

After our meal, we stopped off to play at the Darling Harbour playground and water park.  Beau and Emilia loved being able to control the flow of water by moving the dams and flaps.  Of course slides and climbing are a favorite also.
