Albany - The Town

Albany is a town about 5 hours south of Perth along the Southern Ocean.  It was the first settlement in Western Australia.  We decided to take a trip there at the last minute since we had a 3 day weekend and it was our anniversary.  Monday, March 3rd was Labour Day so all businesses were closed and schools were out.  The holiday is at the start autumn here just like Labor Day in the USA.  We found a place to stay and we were off on Saturday morning.

We started with lunch at Venice Pizza Bar and Restaurant.  The kids had fish and chips, I had baby squid and Chris had a chicken schnitzel sandwich.

After looking through the stores along York St, we stopped for an afternoon ice cream at Artisan Gelato.  There was a cute gift and cooking shop where we found some cupcake holders for Emilia's birthday.  They just don't have Party City in Perth with tons of options!!
